The melancholy of the holidays

The holiday season is often associated with a sense of gloom and sadness. A sadness that stems from the battle of your inner and outer world! An inner world that seeks to distance itself from all kinds of events and an outer world that "imposes" as socially correct the participation in events and gatherings. A battle and conflict that brings you to an emotional impasse! A dead end that you don't know how to manage, as you think that whatever decision you make, you will have to apologize to the social environment! A social environment that will not hesitate to judge you if you make moves incompatible with the socially "imposed" and usual and that will not hesitate to directly classify you in the group of marginalized people! A group to which you feel you belong for quite some time, as you see no one listening to your need to be alone, but also no one identifying with you!

Thus, you end up feeling like a "stranger" in society! And you know that when a label is put on you, you are stigmatized and you cannot take it off easily, so that it does not characterize you. You know that you are more than a label and a title, however, you cannot ignore how it defines you to a degree and how it can determine your future career!

On the other hand, however, you cannot and do not want to "betray" yourself once again!

You know that if you don't listen to your inner voice, your instinct and don't do what you so desire, to be alone, you won't be well. You will give in again so that everyone else is happy, except you! You will say "YES" to others and "NO" to you! Once again, you will lose credibility with yourself! You will not gain self-esteem! Are you going to tell me this will give me self-esteem?

Yes, with this one! Every time you keep a promise, big or small, it doesn't matter, to yourself, you "win" your self-esteem! After all, to do the big things, we have to do the small things first!

After all;

Will you say "YES" to others and "NO" to yourself?
